Test One Product Change
A four-week way to tell whether one new product moved a score, instead of changing the whole routine at once.
Why change only one product?
If you start a retinoid, a new cleanser, and a vitamin C serum in the same week, a later scan cannot tell you which one helped or which one irritated you. Pick one change. Keep the cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen you already tolerate. Run it for four weeks, which is long enough for a purge or a barrier complaint to show, and short enough that you are not guessing from one bad night.
Log the start date in the symptom diary. Photograph in the same light once or twice a week.
What counts as a result?
Look at the direction of hydration, texture, and redness, not at one afternoon. Stinging that fades in a few days can be a new active. Stinging that gets worse, or a rash that spreads, is a reason to stop and, if it does not settle, to see a clinician. The four-week planner is the checklist version of this test.
FAQ
Questions about test one product change
What does Test One Product Change cover?
A four-week way to tell whether one new product moved a score, instead of changing the whole routine at once. The page is organized around “how to test a new skincare product” and stays tied to the scores and routines AISkincare can actually show you in the app.
How should I use Test One Product Change with a scan?
Read the point this page makes about how to test a new skincare product, then take a scan and compare it with the six scores. One visit cannot show whether a change helped. A second scan, under similar light, can.
When is Test One Product Change the wrong tool?
When the issue is pain, a spreading rash, sudden swelling, or a mark that is changing shape or color. Test One Product Change explains how to test a new skincare product. It does not replace a clinician.
